Personally I think it is very sweet. Marriages are composed of two elements: Emotional and Legal. The legal element is the signing of a government-recognised contract, and the emotional element is simply happiness. If you get that from a priest telling you to kiss, fine, good for you. If you get that from simply signing the contract in front of friends and family, people you care about, that’s great too.

If this couple got the most happiness from this robot, well that’s incredibly romantic and I wish them all the future happiness in the world. Some people apparently feel uncomfortable about the idea of a robot marrying too people, and I will admit I did feel uncomfortable when I watched that video. But it was not the robot that made me uncomfortable: I was watching a wedding take place. A wedding is an inherently personal and beautiful moment, and this wedding is between between two people I do not know…It felt like I was intruding.
